Google Pay can be seen as a digital wallet tied to your Google account. You’ll use it to send or request money with friends (like Venmo), use it in apps to buy things, and use it at a store or restaurant with an Android phone or watch running Wear OS. But perhaps the important reason to use Google Pay is that it’s faster and safer than employing a physical debit or MasterCard viralvista.
Replacing Android Pay and Google Wallet in 2018, Google Pay works without sending stores and restaurants your actual card numbers. Essentially, your credit and open-end credit information is stored securely on Google’s servers, and rather than transmitting your card’s numbers, Google Pay uses a token called a virtual account number as a stand-in.
How To Set Up Google Pay On Your Android
The first thing you would like to try to do is to get the Google Pay app.
- Download the app from the Google Play Store.
- Open the Google Pay app, and tap the start button.
- Next, tap the hook up with the Gmail button. A window will crop up posing for your permission to offer Google Pay access to your device’s location.

- Next, your bank will verify your card, and you will get a message stating that your lock screen is going to be used for Google Play. Once you understand that, hit the blue Got It button at the bottom.
- Next, you will find yourself on the Verify Your Card screen. Choose where you would like to receive the verification number. Counting on your card you’ll have it sent to either your email or telephone number. Once you select, tap the Continue button. Once you receive the amount, type it into the Verification Number screen and tap the Submit button.
Set a default card for Google Pay
You can store multiple cards on Google Pay and even set one up because of the default card.
- Tap the stored card you would like to line as default.
- When the card’s details screen pops up, tap the Default for in-store payments slider button. It takes a moment approximately to show blue.
Send and receive money with Google Pay
But Google Pay is not just about using your phone rather than plastic cards. you’ll send and request cash with friends and family, a bit as you’ll with Venmo and Zelle.
- To send cash, open the Messages app.
- Start a replacement message, and tap the + button.
- From there, tap the Google Pay popup window.
- Tap Continue, enter the quantity you would like to send, and press the blue Attach money button.
- After a couple of seconds, you will see a small square inside your message bubble with the quantity of cash you entered. Once you’re ready, tap the Send icon.
This same process works for requesting money.
You can use Gmail to send and request money also. It’s incredibly easy.
- Start a replacement email message, and tap the paperclip icon if you’re using the Gmail app on your phone or the $ icon if you’re using Gmail through a browser.
- Next, select Send Money or Request Money. Enter the quantity, add a memo then tap Attach Money or Attach Request.
- Finally, send your message.
With Google Pay, you’ll also send or request money from your browser.
- Go to pay.google.com and log in.
- Next, select the Send or Request Money tab.
- Tap Send Money or Request Money.
- Enter the quantity of cash you would like to send or request, then enter a recipient’s telephone number, email, or enter their name to tug in info from their contact card.
- Finally, tap Send or Request.
